The historical building was designed by architect John McArthur Jr. and Thomas Ustick Walter in 1871 and was finished in 1901. The construction of the architectural masterpiece is made of brick, limestone, white marble, and granite and was named the world’s tallest masonry structure in Philadelphia until 1987.
