The workers' comp attorneys in Upper Chichester, PA, at Schuster Law would like to share the township's highlights and great qualities they offer their residents.

Upper Chichester

The township of Upper Chichester is located in the southwestern region of Delaware County in the state of Pennsylvania. The 4288-acre town includes 6.4 acres of water, such as the Marcus Hook Creek. It has an elevation of 98 feet or 30 meters. Many of the nearby communities are Linwood and Trainer, while the communities that make up the township are Boothwyn, Odgen, and Twin Oaks.

History

The Lenni Lenape Native Americans, also known as the Delaware Indians, were the first to settle the area with villages along the waterways. They lived off of the rich resources that included fish, game, and even crops from farms. The Swedes claimed the area in 1643 and began to refer to it as New Sweden. In 1654, the Dutch began to settle into the area. Both communities traded with the Natives for fur and necessities.

In line with the land grant from King Charles II, William Penn took control of the area in 1681. Penn began to establish townships and sold portions of the land to other Englishmen and Welshmen. Most were Quakers, like him.

Walter Martin was one of the earliest settlers in the late 17th century and founded the St. Martin's Church. The town of Boothwyn was named in honor of another landowner, Edwin Booth.

Neighborhood

Within the township is an office of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, located on Chichester Avenue. The historical union was founded in 1891 by ten workers who desired to promote the safety and advancement of anyone employed in the dangerous profession. Today the association represents over 775,000 members, active and retired. Some of the fields represented includes:

testimonial 2

My husband and I were in a car accident and our car got t-boned. Andrew Valentin was the lawyer we chose to represent us. Andrew fought on our behalf with the other party's insurance company, making sure everything was made right. Between regular check-ins on us and follow through on the case, Andrew made sure we were well taken care of.
